Swords of This Highlander Film and TV Series
Regardless of the quirky accents, the film gained cult status, in large part as a result of this superb sword fights, ekino-tv together with fans and collectors shortly looking for replicas of many weapons used in the movie.
At the beginning of the films narrative, Connor MacLeod wields a single-handed broadsword. Although no official replica exists, there are a lot of unlicensed versions available to get, mostly of decent quality but none are 100% true to the movie prop.
Later in the movie Connor MacLeod wields a ancient Japanese Katana that once belonged to his own mentor, Ramirez. Formerly collectors are forced to put up with unofficial replicas, often poorly sculpted, and rarely accurate to the original film. Excitingly, United Cutlery have recently release a new, officially licensed version, which correctly matches the film versions intricately carved dragon-head manage, and features a hand-forged carbon-steel blade. Following the very first highlander film, there were some sequels, but none that were memorable or entertaining as the first. Throughout the 1990's a Highlander TV spinoff series was established that followed the adventures of another MacLeod family member, Duncan. Like Connor he also wielded a dragon-head katana, although of a slightly different design. The show is usually regarded as the best followup to the first movie and attracted a large cult following, together with things finally coming full circle with a film that combined Duncan and Connor.
